Souq Waqif

If you are looking for a wonderful place to shop, to dine, to explore or simply sitting at one of the many attractive outdoor cafe to watch the world pass by, look nowhere but Souq Waqif in Doha.

For centuries, this location has been a souq for Bedouin (nomads who have historically inhabited the Arabian and Syrian Deserts.) to take the wool and animals to trade for daily necessities. With time pass, the souq started to run down and has almost get to the point of being demolished. Luckily, in 2004, it was decided to preserve this historical site so the entire market area has been renovated and restored according to the traditional Qatari architectural techniques. It’s probably the only traditional souq left in the Gulf.

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) houses one of the most comprehensive collections of Islamic art in the world, with masterpieces from every corner of the globe representing the diversity found in Islamic heritage.

Our learning and outreach team offers a wide variety of engaging events and programmes for audiences of all ages.

Our online collection features more than 400 museum highlights, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles, coins and glass.

MIA Park offers year-round attractions, including film screenings, sporting events, outdoor cafés, art workshops, pop-up markets and more.

Open 24 hours a day, MIA Park is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon picnic or a sunset stroll, complemented by family-friendly activities and engaging public artworks.

Al Bidda Park - Rumaila Area

Al Bidda Park, formerly known as Al Rumaila Park, is a park in Doha, Qatar next to Qatar National Theater. It is near Doha Bay, overlooks the Doha Corniche and is one of the oldest and most popular parks in Doha. It is one of the areas used for birdwatching.

There is literally something for everyone in Al Bidda Park and we welcome you to come and explore the park at your leisure. Set amongst the beautiful sweeping lawns and beds bursting with flowers there are a number of main attractions.

Doha Corniche

One of Doha’s most iconic attractions, the Doha Corniche is a seven kilometer stretch of gorgeous promenade overlooking the serene waterfront. With a crescent shaped walkway around the Doha Bay, the Corniche offers the best views of the city’s modern skyline, making the epicenter of various occasions such as the National Day celebrations and the National Sports Day. Watch the dhows lighting up the Corniche in the evenings while on your walk around the bay or simply take a boat ride to soak in the vista of this city.
